Narrow through the toeAug 25, 2011

I ordered these boots to go with the supergirl costume that I also ordered here on Amazon. My main hesitation before ordering was that the boots looked like they might not be the right color red to match the costume. That is no problem though, they look great with the costume even though the reds in the pictures don't seem to match up. Other reviews have commented on the boots being narrow through the ankle and calves. I can see how that could be a problem for some people, but they fit just fine for me and I think I have pretty average sized calves. There is about an inch or so to spare through the calves for me. Where I did find the boots a little too narrow is through the toes. The toe is really pointy, so my toes are a bit cramped up. I ordered my regular size and I'm not sure if ordering a size larger would have helped or not. Overall, though, I am happy with this purchase and I would order them again. There is no way I would wear the supergirl costume without them. I would just suggest that if you are a little wide through the toes (if that makes any sense) perhaps order them a few weeks before you need them so you can walk around the house in them some or stuff the toes with socks to try to break them in. That's what I'm going to do. ***update*** I put on 2 pairs of tennis style socks with these (this was pretty uncomfortable at first without being able to move my toes a bit) and walked around the house like that for a little more than an hour before I wore them out. I was happy to find that this quickly solved the problem of the tightness through the toes. They stretched easily. I was even able to wear a single pair of socks with them comfortably after doing this. I got a lot of compliments on my supergirl costume, but even more on these boots. When I took them off at the end of the night, I did have impression marks on my calves and shins from the seams of the boots. Still, I did not feel any discomfort through the legs at all. I could have even worn them much longer.

They are a good deal for what you pay. I do have to reiterate what an earlier reviewer said though. If your calves are larger than normal, then don't buy these, as they are designed to fit tightly around the legs.
I actually find it a bonus that they fit so tightly, because the tight fit looks awesome. However for big calved mamas, they don't stretch.
Any normal-legged girls should fit this nicely though.

A girlfriend found these amazing boots and said she would wear them under her wedding dress if we got them for her... so we did. She channeled her inner Wonder Woman and wore them for the garter toss, a great surprise when the groom lifted up her dress. It was wonderful and very geek chic (and she said they were extremely comfortable to dance in). 5 stars for sure!

Got these boots for Halloween this year and they were perfect!! The seller was fantastic and I got them on time - and it was sort of a last minute order. The boots were comfortable for me, however if you have very high arches or wide feet make sure you order with enough time to get something else if these don't work for you. Also, the calves are VERY fitted and do not have any elastic for stretch, so if you have large calves, or have had trouble with tall boots fitting in the past, don't even bother. I have average to smallish calves and I could barely get them zipped - and I mean barely, it was sort of a struggle... But, if they fit your feet and calves you should be good, I wore them for almost 8 hours, mostly standing, and they were comfortable (for heels) all night. Only giving 4 stars because they calves were pretty tight, if they had even a little bit of stretch would be 5 stars for sure.

I'll start by saying that these boots were good quality and would have been a great addition to my Halloween costume this year. However, I couldn't get them zipped much further than my ankle. I don't have large legs, but my legs aren't sticks either (i.e. if I'm trying on boots in a departments store, I generally don't have any issue with boots zipping up...and if I ever do, it's just a smidge at the very top of the calf near the knee, but never where it won't even zip past the ankle). Unless you have very thin legs, I'm not sure you'll be able to wear them. I did return the pair I bought, but the return transaction went smoothly.
