 Too Small and Poor Customer ServiceOct 16, 2011

I was very disappointed in this product and the customer service of Totally Costumes. I wear a size small which is what I ordered. The top is way too tight and too short. The skirt is a bit big. I didn't receive anything with my order other than the costume. There was not even a receipt of any kind enclosed.
When I tried to return the product, the company made me aware of their 7-Day Return Policy and would not allow a return or exchange. I would have never ordered a product with such a short return time.
Now I am stuck with a costume I can't wear. I would NEVER order anything from this company again.

This costume is awesome! It comes with a top with Peter Pan collar, a skirt, and a polka dot scarf that you can tie around your neck or wear in your hair, etc. Not only does it totally evoke the '50s and stay true to the style, it's also good quality. The skirt is incredibly soft, with this cute poodle applique, and just the right length, not too short like most costumes. The detailing on this costume is great. It's soft and comfortable and the details, sequins, etc., are very nice. The top even has shoulder pads. You could pretty much wear it just as normal clothing. While most costumes are very bad quality, kind of just a veneer to give a sloppy appearance of the thing it's supposed to be a costume of, and falling apart, this is a refreshing difference. The only thing is that I think the top is a little too short - it doesn't fall naturally over the skirt, and it's almost too short to tuck into it. Also, most costumes are pretty big on me, so I think this one must run a little smaller than usual, because I got the S and it's just the right size for me - and I am pretty petite. Subtle and high-quality and cute! Not to mention it's not crazy expensive like all those crappy costumes out there.

I wanted a 50s costume for Halloween. This one seemed to fit the bill. I ordered an XL because I don't like tight clothes and I figured this would give me plenty of room. I was mistaken. The skirt with an elastic waist was fine. The top was another story. It is a pullover top that has some stretch, but it fit me like a second skin. I will wear the skirt and the scarf that came with it. I will wear a white blouse and pitch the top. Next time I will go to a store and try the outfit on so this doesn't happen again.

I wear a small but based on all the other reviews I purchased a medium. The shirt was still to short and I was swimming in the skirt. The costume did not have a scarf in it. My best advice to anyone purchasing this outfit is to set your expectations that you are purchasing it for the skirt. Find yourself another top and don't expect to have a scarf in the outfit.
i probably won't buy another costume from this seller given that they do not send all the pieces to you.

The costume is cute- exactly how it looks online. However, I was shipped the wrong size. My receipt clearly stated 'small', but I was sent a 'medium'. I needed the costume within the next few days, so it was too late to return for another try. Also, the bottom runs true to size (the 'medium' was too big for me), but the top was super small and short. I can't imagine what the 'small' top would have been like if I actually got what I ordered. Too bad you can mix and match sizes for the top and bottom! Next time, I will go to a costume shop and purchase what I need.
